Howie was a childhood friend.  We did not hang-out together so much in high school.  I remember him more from elementary school (South Hi Mount) and church (Birchman Ave Baptist).  His dad ran Cousins Cleaners and I think he was a deacon in the church.  Howie and I were in the same Sunday Scholl classes.  Great guy with a real (mischievous) sense of fun.  My strongest memory is my birthday party in the 3rd grade.  My house had a huge wooded backyard; great for playing.  We had a soft drink machine and pool table in the gargage.  Dad had bought cases of Dr. Pepper to put into the drink machine, but for my party we iced them down in coolers.  Howie drank DP after DP after DP.  He really enjoyed himself.  I wish I had kept-up with Howie through the years.  He is a good memory from my childhood.
